With the data gathered from the online recruitment sector over the last 7 years, we are able to monitor the ebb and flow of a very dynamic marketplace.  With the usual seasonal dips at Easter, August, and December, we are able to monitor the volumes of jobs being advertised online.

Something strange has happened in the last month.  Overall, the index is 15% down on the same point last year, and the seasonal dip at Easter seems to have bitten deeper than usual.  This may be because Easter has come much earlier than for a long time.  The Index is well off its August 2007 peak at the 2,357 mark.  Reed, Jobsite and Totaljobs have recorded large falls in March.
