THE ALLJOBSUK.COM ONLINE RECRUITMENT INDEX
is a unique industry indicator. In order to more accurately reflect the ebb and flow of the online recruitment advertising sector, we use the published volumes of active job adverts from leading jobsites to generate a composite figure.

With a baseline of 1,000 from when the Index began in August 2000, we are able to reflect the peaks and troughs of the sector, and compare year on year. By analysing this more accurate indicator, we are able to be informed more clearly of the seasonal shifts, and relative market confidence of advertisers who use the UK’s major job sites.

	ALLJOBS INDEX NEWS As we know, from our figures since 2000, there is a seasonal lift in figures from August to mid-December. The current Index shows modest growth over that period, and dipped earlier than expected for the usual Christmas period. Now that the New Year has begun, we have seen the Index rise by 242 points, from it's all time record low. Confidence has not fully returned to the recruitment market, but any growth, such as it is, is very welcome indeed. The Index has now grown by 315 points since the beginning of 2010. Currently, CVLibrary, Jobsite and Totaljobs are faring less badly than others in difficult market conditions, when comparing job volumes with historical records. Hopefully the dramatic decline of the past 2 years has finally been halted. We predict modest growth over the first quarter.
