Following an unprecedented 13 weeks of continuous falls, the National Online Recruitment Index rose by almost 100 points in the fortnight to 20th May!  Having hit a record low, since records began in August 2000, we may just be seeing the beginnings of a recovery, although we're likely to bump along the bottom for a little while yet.

The Index is currently running at only 57% of last year's figures.  Given the current recruitment situation, this will be felt mostly by candidates at the sharp end, seeing the sharp decline in available vacancies.  This of course, further impacts upon vacancy turnover, created by individuals moving to new jobs.

It is now clear that job boards and recruitment agencies have put in place their own plans for recovery.  Let's hope their confidence is not misplaced, and a steady path to further growth is taken.
